Believe it or not, this gorgeous north Raleigh kitchen was not always so light and airy… The Greenberg family came to us because their existing kitchen was dark and drab and could use a better work flow. They partnered with our designer, Jesse, to create a space that is now inviting, spacious and beautiful, with all the right appointments! Jesse improved work flow first by removing their original angled island to create one long, sleek central island with overhang for seating and additional storage. He incorporated a single bowl under mount sink into their island prep area, along with a pull out trash unit and vertical storage for cutting boards and sheet pans. The original range area was not vented to the exterior and interrupted the flow of the countertop. To correct this issue, the range was re-located to an adjacent wall and the range exhaust hood was easily ventilated to the exterior. A makeup air unit was installed to allow fresh air back into the kitchen, and a powerful commercial grade 1000 cfm range hood installed to pull out any smoke or smells created during cooking. The range was upgraded to a professional 36″ size and converted to natural gas. The microwave is neatly integrated into the interior of the wall pantry.
The cabinetry used is Uptown White by Forevermark Cabinetry, with the island in Midtown Grey by Forevermark. The contrasting white and grey paired beautifully with the marbleized quartz countertops by Silestone. To add extra light to the space, we added adjustable undercabinet lighting, along with installing two additional can lights to highlight the cabinetry further.
This project also featured updates to the existing flooring and wall paint colors! We are certain that the Greenberg’s will be enjoying their new kitchen for years and years to come!
